Moved to LA about a year ago, and still finding many vehicular customs strange...this is one of them: two or three cars/trucks through the intersection after the light changes seems hunky-dory, four seems marginally acceptable, five gets a honk, and six might earn a honk plus an expletive. An oddly permissive culture.
