I run through all the reasons one might buy a hummer for LA: fires, riots, mudslides, earthquakes, torrential (can you feel the air quotes?) rains, gale force winds. None of them holds up, especially on the west side of Entitlement. I've lived through all of those here in my 20+ years of residence, and haven't had the need for such transportation during any of them.
